I’ve needed corrective vision for 25 years and I opened my eyes this morning and could see clearly without glasses or contacts!!!!!!!! 😁 My vision was -7.75 and doctor said today it’s 20/20 and will improve more. No running for 2 weeks, and then it’s on to 50K training!
I signed up! 50K. I am going to Utah!!!
Bahamas sunset. **I could easily critique this no makeup/no filter picture of myself. I hesitated to put this on my story & post. I am a confident person but I also have been scarred & let outside voices influence me. We live in a world where there are apps to put fake makeup on, give you abs, smooth your face, etc. It’s exhausting trying to live up to perfect standards. This vacation has given me a lot of time to reflect. 3 days without phone service and being away from everyday life was the time I needed. If you’ve followed me for longer than a few months and actually read my posts, then you know I’ve gone through some tough stuff. Loss of the dad I knew due to brain damage, complete loss of relationship with my mom & brother, divorce, single mom life, 2 moves in 6 months. For so many years I’ve lived under a microscope and everything I’ve said, did, posted was criticized and analyzed. Being around people who are angry most of the time wears you down. 👋🏼 So here I am on the other side—free.🦋 I stand on that cruise ship deck a completely happy woman who has come out of the trenches. I didn’t do it alone, there have been people who have helped lift me up and find my way. The times where I cry have become less and less. For anyone that has started following me may be confused as why ultrarunner.lisa isn’t running very much at all. Life happens. While running is my therapy, I’ve needed time where I’m not focused on a goal and help others with theirs. But it’s time to balance that out. Still helping others (which I love) but start a new goal of my own. I’m so grateful to those of you who have invested time in my story, my life journey. While many things on social media can be faked, there is no faking the love & friendship I have found through Instagram. 💜 **this was my first time on a cruise. It was always a dream of mine & I want to give my kids experiences I was never given. I grew up in a household where most time was spent in front of a tv. I’ve always had an adventurous spirit but never been able to fully embrace it. I was always the outsider in my family. The Lisa you see now is living life away from the tv that was constantly playing as a child.

#throwbackthursday 💜 I love this picture because you can tell how much I love crewing. I won’t rub just anyone’s feet though. 😂 #specialfeet 📷: @aallenmiller **When I get back from vacation I’m gonna make a decision about which ultra to train for & get back at it. Who wants to massage my feet? I love foot massages 😁🤣
Burning River 100 Finish & our texts during his race (I’m green text at mile 66 and he is white text at mile almost 100) I was on trails pacing & he ran ahead and then waited 😭 I’m still on a high from the whole experience. 💜🖤🐴 #burningriver100 #100milefinish #lasthorse #ultra 📷: @npalmer03
Man Crush Monday #mcm 🤔 I’ve never participated in these. But today I will. My mcm is @runimasa 🏆 There are so many words to describe him. If you’ve ever been around him you know what I mean. #markisms Maybe you can tell from my insta stories or just ask my friends @kristina.clifton and @npalmer03 ❤️ He is so great and he doesn’t even know how great. Even when he is at his worst mood he is hilarious (see the smile hamburger pic when he was at 50 miles of 100...I asked him for a smile when he was being crabby). I’m so happy I finally got to pace him (which he says he paced me 😂). This year I have crewed him for Prairie Spirt 50K, Boston Marathon, Northface 50 mile, Cruel Jewel 50 mile and now Burning River 100 mile. This guy is a magnet. You will laugh around him guaranteed. He is clueless a lot, I joke I’ll never know if he ever goes senile. Thanks Mark for adding so much joy to my life. #youresocrazy #mancrushmonday #burningriver100
Look at this guy. What an experience. 28 hours. Mark dropped me as a pacer at mile 98 going sub 6 minute miles then waited for me at mile 100 and ran in together at mile 101. He could’ve went sub 28 hours but he waited for me. The new joke is that Mark paced me. 😂 I ran 23 miles with him and Naomi ran 28 miles with him (she ran first unofficial ultra!!!!!) Such an amazing adventure. #burningriver100 #markisms
This girl gets me ❤️ 4 mile run, about to have a Burning River 100 race meeting at Mark’s house & then girls sleepover at my house. 👯♀️
6 adventures in the last 4 months. Ready for # 7 in a few days. Back to Ohio. 100 miles for Mark. It’s been a fun journey getting here. I love traveling, running & seeing friends.
Looking to run an Ultra together this fall. Which one though? 🤔any recommendations?👯♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏾♀️This girl, even 1,000 miles away, has been there for me. My long crazy texts, happy moments, frustrating moments. I don’t have a lot of family, but I’m happy to call her my sister. 💜
1 week & Mark @runimasa will be on the course at Burning River for 100 miles! Of course, the red pants will be making an appearance for this adventure. Stay tuned, friends, this will be a fun one.
