A little Jimi for your Thursday : proof you can rock an acoustic. No amp. No FX. No engineering. This is plain-Jane AV from my stock Google Pixel 2 phone. But dang, I love the verb in this senior center at the RV park. This room is live!
Thanks a ton for the watermelon @valleyviewfarms85924 ! It's a hit!
The great Christian revolutions came not by the discovery of something that was not known before. They happen when someone takes radically something that was always there. H. Richard Niebuhr
Here is my secret. It is very simple: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. Antoine de Saint Exupéry
(SR-71) Blackbird. Elam lent a (not-so) helping hand. Typical Thursday.
This jumping bean is really excited. Things are looking good despite our many setbacks and current circumstances. My music is getting tons of positive attention and I am churning our new songs daily. My client base is continuing to grow as more and more entrepreneurs are bringing me their start-up legal needs. And all kinds of crazy good stuff is happening on a daily basis. It isn't hard at all so see that God's hands are busy at work on my family and my mission. It is a very good thing. But I know how easy it is to let a little of a good thing go to your head. A new song today. A big deal tomorrow. It's easy to lose focus and call those "my" wins. It's easy to tuck them into my pocket and forget to thank God. He made my my life, free from sin and shame, possible through the atoning sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. And though I don't deserve it, he lets me share in the victory! He lets me join Him in the win! And all I can do is say - THANK YOU LORD JESUS! And I remember Jesus taught me to love God, but also to love my neighbor. And instead of asking who my neighbor is, I should ask how I can be a good neighbor. Won't you be my neighbor? Hi neighbor! I am so humbled and happy to know that my family's story is reaching so many lives - especially yours. What an honor it is to be welcomed into your busy social feed. Thank you. Truly. From the bottom of my over-sized and over-shared heart. ___________ In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end. Otherwise, you may say in your heart, 'My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.' But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:16-18
Come as you are, but don't expect to stay that way. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalms 51:17

I spent a year meditating on verses 6 and 7. I was racked with anxiety and depression - even self hatred - most of my life. Three years ago I cried out to Jesus to save me. Since that day, my Savior, through His Word, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the many mysteries of God I'll never fully comprehend, freed me from those chains. Praise the Lord! Casting my cares and anxiety on the Lord has become a daily - even hourly - exercise. Some days, it is harder than others. But I find so much comfort in the boundless grace of God. No matter how hard my stubborn spirit of self resists, he persists. He continues to knock gently and patiently - not willing to lose me. He simply asks me to let go of it. What an incredible God we serve: one who not only seeks and saves the lost, but then carries their burdens and raises them up in His glory! How unimaginably wonderful! Lord, let us be humble under your hand. Take these fears and anxieties. Take the worry. We don't want it. You have forgiven our sins - surely you can wipe away our daily troubles. Provide your Spirit of patience that we may have peace and joy as we eagerly await your return. And, perfect us... confirm us... strengthen us... establish us. Let your kingdom come. And, let your will be done - here on this earth as it is in heaven. Amen. ______________ Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 1 Peter 5:6-10 #verseoftheday #1peter #1peter5 #1peter57 #anxiety #depression #salvation #Jesus #jesusislord #jesusissavior #jesusisthegoodshepherd #overcome #struggle #bevictorious #christ #prayer #prayers
